You know those days when you wake up feeling a bit rubbish? We’re going to fix that. High five. The first step is actually getting up out of bed. Yes, lie-ins are lovely, but how are you going to fit in all of your happy activities if you stay in bed til 3 in the afternoon? I get up before 9am even on mornings where I don’t have to do anything. Lie-ins make me feel sluggish and sick. Gross. If getting up is difficult, make it a treat. Promise yourself that you’ll wash your face (properly – who else is…

I love perfume. I have different ones for different occasions. For example – if I’m going on a night out, I am unashamed to admit that I use my trusty old (really old) “Immortal” Twilight perfume. If I want to get cracking and write loads of blog posts or do my coursework, I use “Dirty” by LUSH, which is super minty and sweet and makes me feel productive. I love Christmassy scents all year round – cinnamon, clove, orange, spiced apple, the lot. I bought a magazine and got a little Body Shop card (you know, the ones where you…

The 5th of November is Bonfire Night in England. It’s a night where people set fire to big piles of stuff in the name of ‘community spirit’, and set off needless amounts of fireworks. I love it. Not. However, yesterday was when I really noticed how flipping freezing it’s getting in England. I was examining myself critically in the mirror and came up with my conundrum – my hair looked too summery. I picked up this gorgeous little flippy-skirted skater dress in the Topshop sale for £5. I love the little drawstring and the light colour, as well as the whole ‘simpleness’ of it – it’s not too long, not too short, and the neckline is nice and high. I’m a big dress-wearer, and weirdly, tend to gravitate towards dresses in Winter rather than leggings or jeans. On the first picture you can (just) see that my shoes are little black flats which don’t stand out too much against my black tights. On the second picture are my newest shoes, grey, leathery-looking…

I’ve had a lot of struggles with my hair. Some shampoos dry it out, some make it more oily than when I started trying to wash it. Conditioner wasn’t even an option – my hair is so thin that the tiniest amount (don’t they say you’re supposed to use the size of a 10 pence piece? Who does that?) weighs it down. When I got my Christmas job at LUSH, they recommended a couple of products for me. As you know, I love the shampoo bars – I actually don’t think I’ll be likely to go back to liquid shampoo.…
