2015 Beauty Favourites

Happy New Year, everyone!

I spent New Year sniffling and coughing because my body decided to gift me with the flu for Christmas. Yay, immune system!

However, as I was lying in my deathbed, I got to thinking. 2015 has been the year I really started to experiment with new brands and new products, beauty-wise. I’ve spent a little more on some stuff, a little less on others – and I think I’ve found a nice balance!

So, without further ado (and because my eyes are streaming and I’ve run out of tissues), here are my 2015 beauty favourites!

2015 Beauty Favourites

As you can see, I’ve really branched out with my brands (and my trusty 2true £1.99 concealer went really orange and had to go in the bin, sob).

Special mention in this post goes to Lush’s Fairy Dust dusting powder… I didn’t realise I needed a Snow Fairy-scented powder in my life, but I do. End of.

2015 Beauty Favourites - FaceVitamin E Face Mist – The Body Shop
This mist has saved my skin! I have really odd skin: it’s simultaneously oily, dry and sensitive. Lucky me. I mist this on before using a cream moisturiser, and again during the day if my skin needs a bit of a refresh.

Primark PS Love Foundation Stick
This is my £2 holy grail. The shade and consistency is just perfect for my skin: it’s not greasy, but it’s dewy enough to look natural. Plus, there’s something really satisfying about drawing on my face with a foundation crayon.

Topshop Cheek Jelly in Sibling
Bought on a whim for £2 in the Topshop sale, this has quickly become a staple in my makeup bag. I’m wary of blushes, as I naturally have pink cheeks and I’m not too keen on emphasising them, but I love this product! It’s multi-purpose: I’ve been known to use it on my cheeks, lips and eyes (as a base to a smoky eye) at the same time. It’s a beautiful buildable deep berry shade.

Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub
My lips would probably fall off without this. As someone with fairly full lips, any sort of dry skin or chapping is really noticeable. Not only does this stuff last forever, but it’s gentle on the lips and tastes DELICIOUS.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mattifying Base Primer
If I don’t use a primer, my skin does an evil laugh and turns me into a goblin. No lie. I took advantage of some cheeky Superdrug sales to pick this up: it’s a clear gel primer that smooths and perfects your skin and makes you look like a literal angel.

2015 Beauty Favourites - Eyes

Sleek Eye & Cheek Palette in See You At Midnight
I picked this beauty up in TK Maxx for £2.99 (saving me about £6, which I’m naturally thrilled with). Although the palette contains two blushes (Antique & Pomegranate), I use them as a base eyeshadow when I want to do a nice warm eyeshadow look. I wore this palette on Christmas Eve and felt all sultry etc.

Topshop Eyeliner
Be gone, smudgy awful pencil liner! I got sick of people awkwardly pointing out that my eyeliner had slid all over my face so I splashed out a bit, and picked this up. I thought it would be a felt tip, but it’s a thin brush that does wonders for my winged liner.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
I My lashes have literally never looked so good. I adore this mascara – only a few coats make me feel like Bambi (big eyelashes, not the whole ‘being a baby deer’ thing).

And that’s it! I’m excited for 2016 on littlebudget, and I hope you are too!
