Essence Lip Products | Review

I love Essence. It’s like the brand was created for me (it wasn’t, but wouldn’t it be cool if it was?!). It’s very affordable, and the packaging is super cute and girly.

I’ve tried some of their nude lip products and loved them, but this day I was in the mood for something cuter. I’ve never been one for  baby pink lips, but I was feeling a bit bubblegum-princess, so I headed into Wilkos and picked these up.

The shades I got are “Colour Party” (liquid lipstick, £2.50) and “Candy Love” (lipstick, £2).

The lipstick is from their “Sheer and Shine” range (which I like – I’m a bit slapdash with lipstick and if it’s too pigmented I can go well overboard and end up looking like I’ve got wax crayon all over my face). It’s sheer without being invisible, and has a pretty dewy look to it: not glittery or glossy, just a natural sheen.

The liquid lipstick is my favourite: I can wear it over the lipstick for a pop of colour, or by itself for a more sheer look. The best way I can describe this is looking like a baby’s mouth: you know how they’re all cute and pink and soft-looking?! It does exactly that. And it’s not sticky! Hallelujah!

I absolutely love the packaging: for an affordable brand the packaging is durable and it looks really pretty. I love that there’s a little “e” for Essence engraved into the lipstick!

I’m definitely going to be trying a whole lot more from Essence, and I’ll keep you posted!
