Affordable Autumn Fashion with Everything5Pounds

Autumn is my ultimate fave. So are clothes, and bargains, and also chocolate, but that won’t be featured in this post. Soz.

So I came across Everything5Pounds.com, and my little autumn/clothes/bargain-loving brain went into overdrive. I spent a good hour or two adding 50 or 60 pieces to my wishlist, and then trying to resist the urge to buy all of them. I narrowed it down to some key pieces.

Just to let y’all know, I did a big order before working with the brand, and I can safely say I would have paid at LEAST double for every item I received! The products are really amazing quality, and feel sturdier and more well-made than some of my more expensive pieces.

scarf-bag-details

I picked up this bag for work – I needed something durable and structured that would hold all of my bizarre work paraphernalia (life of a drama teacher – currently this bag is holding 100 mini plastic balls, a mini bowling set, 50 copies of the lyrics to ‘Naughty’ from Matilda the Musical and an orange kitkat bar in case I get peckish). This bag is simple enough to pair with anything – and who doesn’t love a bit of crocodile print for detail?!

The bag even has little gold feet at the bottom so you can put it on the floor without having to panic about ruining your new lil baby. Perfect! Find this bag here: Textured Panel Front Shopper Bag.

scarf-ring-details

You know when you have a scarf that looks absolutely BEAUT but is actually a demon itchy creation sent from the depths of Hell to ruin your life? Yeah, buy this scarf instead. It’s seriously SO soft – no neck rashes here. Just me that gets a rash off itchy scarves? Sorry for oversharing.

The Aztec pattern is already promising to take me all the way through Autumn and keep me super cuddly in Winter. Pick one up here – Aztec Panel Scarf  and be my scarf twin!

Teeshirt-style dresses are just the ultimate casual dress, aren’t they? I picked up this cross-detail black number (and was a bit pessimistic about sizing; ordered a Large and was pleasantly surprised when, although it was a bit big, it draped nicely and looked deliberately oversized. Score!). The sleeves are long enough to not reveal any accidental “I forgot to shave my armpits because it’s nearly Winter” embarrassment…

You can literally wear this dress however you like – go for a smaller size if you want a tight fit that’ll look absolutely #GirlBoss with a pair of black tights & high heeled ankle boots, or a larger size like mine that’s perfect for running errands or staring out of the window of the bus imagining you’re in an indie film. You can find this teeshirt dress here: Cotton Blend Mini Dress.

bag-boots

I’ve always loved wearing big boots. For someone so little (who used to have little stick legs before she started eating excessive amounts of cheese and then running 5k on the treadmill), I just like how it looks – a little tiny body with some kick-ass boots on the bottom. Perfect.

I picked these bad boys – Black Patent Chunky Sole Boots – and they’re honestly so comfortable. Pair them with thick socks and kick people in the shins to your heart’s content. You better believe I picked up another pair of these in navy blue which haven’t been off my feet in days. Apart from, y’know, when I’m in the bath or something.

pink-coat-paul

Okay, so this Pink Boyfriend Coat the stuff of ACTUAL DREAMS. The colour is so beautiful – more dusky pink than it appears on my photo (shout out to my mum who became quite the proficient camerawoman when I needed outfit photos taken…). I was inspired by Natasha’s blog post at love-laughter-fashion where she showcased this coat (and stalked her social media til I found out where it was from… oops). Head over there and tell her how pretty she is.

Special appearance from my rabbit Paul who decided he wanted to be a model for the day. And left fur all over my coat. Nightmare.

There you go! Have you ever bought anything from Everything5Pounds.com? Will you now you’ve seen how naturally I pose in the clothes?! I kid. Speak soon!

How I Style Ankle Boots*

Fashion post alert! As someone who’s resting face screams “I’m going to kill you and everyone you love,” I don’t often go for fashion photography, but today I’ve made an exception. For these boots. *insert angelic chorus sounds here*

JD Williams Boots

JD Williams Work Photo

The lovely people at JD Williams sent me these stunning snake-print ankle boots, so I’ve styled them up for you (in my very inexpert ‘this looks good, right?’ way) and I’m loving the look!

I paired the boots with some really casual ripped Topshop jeans (loving mom jeans for summer – you can hide your ice-cream food baby especially well in these!). I chose a fun graphic print Boohoo sweatshirt to go along with the look – keeping it oversized and slouchy for typical British summer.

My accessories of choice are this chunky rose-gold watch from H&M, (everything looks better in rose gold, so much so that I actually have a spare watch lurking in my drawer for when I inevitably lose/break/set mine on fire). I carry this white pleather Primark backpack with me everywhere – it’s perfect for uni, work or just hanging about at the shops shoving all your receipts into!

The boots really add to the whole ‘cool’ vibe I think I’ve got going on – perfect if you’re not too girly but still want to rock a bold look for Summer!

Lust List #1: Next

Ooh, look – littlebudget has had a makeover.

I’m in that tricky phase where I wish I hadn’t fiddled about with my layout/logo etc, but I know in a couple of days I’ll be rolling up my (virtual) sleeves and tweaking some more.

Today I’m introducing a new series on my blog – I’m calling it Lust List, and every so often I’ll be showing you guys whatever is on my wishlist. Sometimes there’ll be a theme (I have a makeup-related list in mind that might go up soon!) and sometimes there won’t – but today, my theme is Next.

Next Wishlist

1: Blue Mantel Clock, £18
I’ve just moved out by myself, so this is the sort of grown-up purchase I’ve been making recently! The colour is so bright and cheerful; it makes me happy just looking at it.

2: Leather Gladiator Sandals, £55
I could only find these on the Romanian site, so I won’t be able to buy these for myself, but that doesn’t stop me looking. I’m thinking about getting an investment pair of sandals that will actually last me more than thirty seconds (I’m looking at you, £3 Primark sandals!). These are a Summer staple.

3: Black Shoe Boots, £35
These are the shoe boots that have changed my opinion on shoe boots. I’m obsessed. I remember seeing them on Twitter about a month ago and scrolling desperately back through endless retweets to find the link so that I could make them mine.
I love the simplicity of these boots – I can’t rest until I get myself a pair!

4: Black Fringed Dress, £60
Although I can guarantee I’d look a little bit weird in this dress (I’m short but ‘curvy’ – I hate that phrase, but there really isn’t any other way to describe it!), I love it. It’s a bit different without being too crazy, and the colour will take you through Summer to Autumn.

5: Cold Shoulder Tee, £12
I’ve been really into my fashion basics this month (I blame Victoria’s video over on Inthefrow) so this really appeals to me. I can imagine this tucked into high waisted black skinny jeans with those shoe boots – gorgeous for this time of year. The cold shoulder effect adds a little bit of something to an otherwise plain piece. I’ve been loving a bit of fake tan recently too, which looks amazing against white!

6: Tote Bag, £34
Oh, this colour! I love blues – and paired with the more simple fashion basics, this bag would really stand out. I’m loving structure at the minute too.

7: Black Ankle Strap Chunky Shoes, £38
Although the trend for black chunky shoes doesn’t seem to be going anywhere (which I’m thankful for – I have about fifteen pairs), I haven’t seen any like this for a while. I love the ankle strap – it brings back memories of my first ever ‘grown up’ school shoes that looked quite similar to these!

8: Copper Effect Lanterns, £44
An indulgent one, yes. I’m absolutely loving coppery tones – rose gold included, of course – and these would look adorable on my new coffee table! They hold those pillar candles, which reminds me: I picked up two of their Sea Salt & Driftwood candles and the matching room spray today, and I am in love!

So what do you think? Are you liking this series so far? Let me know!
