Blogmas Day Two: Kringle Candle Haul

I love candles all year round – and to be honest, I’m usually burning Yankee Candles’ “Sparkling Cinnamon” in July. I’m a rebel like that.

I discovered Kringle Candle about 2 years ago when my Granny bought me a big “Watercolours” jar, and was immediately obsessed with them.

I picked up a selection of daylight candles in Collectables. I like the daylight size because a) they’re only £2.50 and b) they burn for 12 hours!

Kringle Kandle Collection

I picked up 6 little daylight candles (think bigger than a tealight but not big enough for a jar).

Citrus and Sage: Does what it says on the tin – citrus mixed with a leafy, fresh green scent.
Spellbound: I think this is a Halloweeny one! It’s fruity and sweet, and is quickly becoming one of my favourites.
Pink Grapefruit: If you’ve ever viciously inhaled the Body Shop’s pink grapefruit shower gel, you’ll know exactly what this smells like.
Watercolours: My ultimate favourite, which blends really well with Spellbound. It smells floral, with strawberry and musk.
Cortland Apple: Literally a super fresh Pink Lady apple in candle form.
Sparkling: This one smells like lime soda (fun fact – this is the only drink me and my mum ever get in a pub).

I like to make a little cocktail with my candles, and often burn them together (usually in a little row, and I end up looking like I’m about to sacrifice a goat). I’ve been burning Citrus and Sage together with Sparkling – it makes my kitchen smell really fresh and clean. It’s actually clean though, I swear.

Am I the only oddball who burns my candles together? Have you ever tried Kringle Candles? Let me know!

Blogmas Day One: Budget Gift Guide (For Girls!)

Happy December 1st, and welcome to littlebudget Blogmas!

Today’s post is a good old gift guide for all the ladies in your life – but because it’s me (whose happy place is the pound shop), we’ve got a budget. Nothing in this list costs over £10!

Budget Gift Guide for Girls.jpg

1: Handbag
You can never go wrong with a bag – we all use them (unless you’re my dad, who wears a snazzy bumbag and has done for the past 25 years). I love Primark for affordable bags – and their handbag game has improved dramatically over the years! They rarely cost more than a tenner. This black and white duo are from the Summer collection, but if you’re lucky you might find these staple pieces in a sale somewhere!

2: Notebooks
I’m a stationary junkie. I physically cannot leave TK Maxx without picking up a diary, a notebook, a calendar… you get the drill. Notebooks are a perfect (and practical!) gift for anyone – school/uni work is much more fun when you have something pretty to write in!
This particular one was £9.99, but I’ve picked up loads of pretty notebooks for under a fiver!

3: Shower Jelly
You know that thing where you want to buy someone some bubblebath or a bath bomb but they might be a shower person? Pick up Lush‘s “Santa’s Belly” shower jelly! It shares a scent with last year’s “So White” shower gel (which hasn’t made a return this year – waahh!), and it’s full of cute little confetti stars! A mini pot costs £3.95, and a larger one (which will literally last you til next Christmas) is £7.95!

4: Magazine Subscription
I’ve asked for a Glamour subscription every year since I was about 18, and it hasn’t happened… yet. It’s actually cheaper to get your magazines this way – and you usually get a cheeky little free gift with it too! You can get 3 issues of Glamour for £3, which would be a pretty cute thing to pop in a stocking for someone!

5: Makeup Palettes
Giving individual eyeshadows as presents is a risky business – what if they’re not mad keen on the colour?! I’ve bought a couple of palettes for my sister (who I really, really hope isn’t reading this!) this year. I’m obsessed with Freedom Makeup, their palettes give you so much choice, and they’re a bargain too! The blush palette in my gift guide is “Peach Pal and Baked”, which has some gorgeous festive colours. Perfect for Christmas parties!

So that’s my budget gift guide! I’ve been super organised this year – my tree is up, everyone’s presents are wrapped neatly(ish) underneath it, and I’ve been bulk-baking cinnamon cookies and forcing my family to eat them so I don’t eat the whole batch.
Happy December 1st!

What I Got For Christmas!

I had a really cute Christmas this year. What with working on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, I didn’t feel too festive, but I always love spending time with my gorgeous family, eating food (a LOT of food) and of course, giving and receiving presents. I thought I’d share some of the gifts I got this year – with the exception of 10 tonnes of chocolate, which I’m sure you can imagine for yourself!
