I managed a glorious 6 months of not biting my nails.
I got stressed one day and nibbled off 6 months of daily cuticle care and countless coats of baby pink polish (I was worryingly obsessed with Essie “Mademoiselle”).
Yesterday I had a job interview (which was successful, hooray!), and suddenly realised my stubby little nails didn’t really scream “I’d love to be a menswear consultant!”, so I had a little dig about in my cupboard and found these:
They’re Primark PS Love… Fashion Nails. These gorgeous purpley-nude ones aren’t in shops any more I don’t think, but I absolutely adore them.
The length is perfect – for girls who are used to having little bitten nails, you don’t suddenly feel as though you’ve got talons and accidentally stab your eye out or anything.
They fit neatly onto small nail beds – mine are tiny, and there are plenty of smaller sizes in the box to suit all nail shapes and sizes.
I sometimes like to file the nails down a little bit to create a more rounded edge, but I was really feeling the square tips yesterday, so I skipped that step.
The only slight downside is the nail glue which comes with them – it’s not the strongest (but for a teeny £1 for the set, I’m not complaining!) so I’d advise using a different nail glue. Want to know a secret? I actually used superglue in a panic because I couldn’t find any nail glue. Classy.
After my interview, I couldn’t resist popping into Primark to get a couple of sets to last me until my nails start looking human again.
I chose two sets – one is a gorgeous iridescent white pair, and one is a plain nude. I love their french manicure sets too, so I’ll be going back in a few days to stock up on those!
Overall, excellent job Primark and PS Love…! These nails are super strong, long lasting, and most importantly super cheap!

Love these! So affordable and fun. They do damage my nails if I wear them too often though, sadly.

They’re cute aren’t they! I always have a couple of days in between sets so my nails don’t go all funny.
