Room Fragrance

This is an important topic for me. I love the feeling of opening my bedroom door after a hard day of uni and buses and drinking numerous cups of hot chocolate to a  clean room, and more importantly, a gorgeous smell.

As you know, I love the smell of anything remotely festive, so my room will smell like a Christmas bakery basically from September to February.

I bought an oil burner from my favourite place on Earth, the pound shop. Yep, it was a pound – and it came with three plain white tealights and an orange-scented oil (which to be honest is fairly bad quality, as it burns very easily and my room smells like burnt orange, which isn’t too nice).

I love using my oil burner with fragrance oils for when you want an immediate fragrance hit: the smell is strong and usually instantaneous.

I picked up these 4 oils on eBay – you can usually find them cheaper and buy in bulk to get special offers. I got 4 for the price of 3, and it cost me roughly £4. I love every single one: Amber is a long-standing favourite of mine but the Cinnamon scented oil is quickly taking over. It’s one of those things where you just have to shove your nose in and breathe really heavily so you sound like a creep – it’s amazing.

To save you ruining your burner – always pour a little bit of water into the bowl before you put the oil in – this saves the oil burning and sticking to the bowl of the burner. The mixture of water and oil creates much more steam as well; which is nice to look at and makes you feel relaaaxed.

Of course, I also love candles. I mentioned my current favourite, Kringle Candles “Watercolours”, in a previous post, but I have a number of other favourites too. There’s actually a box under my bed completely filled with candles that I need to have a little rummage through.

The first candle is in the scent “Toasted Marshmallow”. I got it from the pound shop – I really recommend looking in budget shops for candles, because you can sometimes find brands at teeny prices. I was initially drawn to the colour of the first candle; it’s a gorgeous rich purpley-pink. It smells sweet but not overpowering.

The second candle I picked up in Home Bargains, another one of my favourite shops. It came in a gorgeous display box (which I now use for storing my fragrance oils) and was only about £2. It’s a nice base to add to the scent of another candle.

The third one is one of my absolute favourites; the scent is Apple and Cinnamon. I love apple, I love cinnamon, so obviously me and this candle are best friends. It’s another pound shop special (of course).

What are some of your favourite scents?

Like you, I am a big fragrance lover!! I buy a lot of my candles at Bath and Body Works and my absolutely favourite is Marshmallow Fireside. I just want to swim in it. A lot of the time when it isn’t burning, I just like to smell it anyways. I also have one from Woodwick that is Pumpkin Butter and I think I will have this candle forever. It is supposed to have about 120 hours of burn time. I feel like I could just talk forever about fragrances! I recently just tried Scentsy. Have you ever tried any wax warmers/melters?

I live in the UK so I miss out on Bath and Body Works! I’m jealous of you haha! I did try using melters but they were so messy it put me off; but knowing me I probably did it wrong! I ‘m always shoving my nose into my candles when they aren’t lit hehe :)
