The Search For Perfect Hair: Top 3 Products

I don’t do a whole lot with my hair. I wash it, and brush it, and then shove it up in a bun for 48 hours straight.

When I started thinking about improving the general feel of my hair, I went looking for multi-purpose products that would mean I didn’t need to buy a whole salon just to keep my hair looking (and feeling) pretty.

So here’s a little overview of my favourites.

Umberto Gianini “Backcomb In A Bottle”, Tigi “Cinnamon Soy Orange Straightener & Defrizzer”, Pound Shop “Argan Oil Heat Defense Leave-In Spray”

Umberto Gianini “Backcomb In A Bottle” is one of my very favourite hair products. I got a mini size in last year’s advent calendar (I got a beauty one from Boots, which was amazing. I might get myself one again this year, what do you think?), and loved it so much I went into Boots and bought two when they had a buy-one-get-one-free offer on.
It is exactly “backcomb in a bottle” – I have thin hair, so faking volume is a must for me. It’s like a hairspray and volumiser in one – it adds a bit of texture and volume to any hairstyle.

Tigi “Cinnamon Soy Orange Straightener & Defrizzer” is amazing. I bought it a couple of years ago (I think), and recently discovered it waiting patiently in my bathroom cabinet. The smell is exactly as it describes; a gorgeous spicy, fruity scent that makes your hair smell like a biscuit. I use it to calm down my waves after I’ve washed my hair, as it can sometimes go a bit frizzy and sparse-looking. Used sparingly on dry hair, it adds a bit of moisture and a lovely shine.

I tend to get my heat-defense spray from the Pound Shop, because usually the ingredients are exactly the same, no matter what the cost. I love the “Argan Oil” range; it has an unobtrusive smell, conditions and protects your hair through blow-drying, curling or straightening. I find my hair feels a lot softer and smoother if I use this when my hair is wet, brush it through, then spritz through again when my hair is dry, before I style it.

So those are my top 3. What are yours?
