If you’re still struggling with what to buy for the lovely people in your life, I have a big list of gift ideas for you: and all of them are under £30! I’ll even be super kind and seperate them into categories for you; so we have presents for women – your sister, mum, grandma, anyone you fancy really (there’s a LOT of these!); a little mini gift guide for little girls (for the nieces and cousins in your life), and men and boys (I have less of those in my family, so they’re all grouped together; but they’ll be good for boyfriends, dads, anyone you want!).
Of course these presents could go to anyone – I have my eye on most of the stuff from the men’s section, to be honest!
Make yourself a snack and hot drink; this is a long one!
Gift Guide 1: Ladies
1: For the girl who loves her nails, this set of nail art brushes from ASOS are a handy little stocking stuffer. This would be a good one for my sister, who is fabulous at nail art and has something different on her fingernails nearly every day! Looking forward to seeing some of her creations over Christmas!
2. This is a handy little set of lip balms from the Body Shop, put together in cute little lollipop-shaped packaging. I love the scents of the lip balms – they’re really strong, and taste pretty good too! This is a nice one for that friend (you know, “that friend” that you never know what to buy for?!).
3. Any fan of Taylor Swift is sure to love this “Wonderstruck” perfume! The bottle is gorgeous, and the scent is lovely too. Plus, I love Taylor Swift, so she had to find her way into this gift guide somehow. Another nice gift would be her latest CD, which is fabulous. Who else is obsessed with “Blank Space”?
4. This Body Shop soap is so cute! It’s called Honeymania, and I can see it being perfect for someone a little older, or with more sensitive skin. Honey is really soothing for the skin so it’ll be really luxurious at this time of year; and it’s only £2!
5. This cute pyjama playsuit from Boohoo would be a good gift for your best friend (and you could get a matching one, and have sleepovers, and eat popcorn, and watch movies, and…).
6. I have my eye on this set of Real Techniques makeup brushes, which are a really perfect gift for someone who loves their makeup (or Sam and Nic on YouTube!).
7. “Best Wishes” is my favourite Lush gift set for Christmas. It has three products inside; Cinders bath bomb, So White bath bomb (my absolute favourite!) and Hot Toddy shower gel. I feel this one is a bit more girly because of the So White bath bomb, which turns the water quite a pink/red colour, but I’m sure a guy would appreciate this one as well!
8. This Sleek brow kit is a nice little basic piece for a beauty lover (or someone who just really loves their eyebrows!). I think Sleek packaging is, well, sleek (hilarious, I know); it looks pretty and high-end, but stays under the £10 range. I’d get this for my sister, who’s just discovered how amazing eyebrow powder is, and keeps asking to borrow mine (I just mis-typed ‘borrow’ as ‘brow’ – how appropriate).
9. This set of mini Ciate nail polishes is great for someone who loves their nails, and would make a really special stocking stuffer, if you wanted to be extra kind! Down from £25 to just £9, it would also be nice for a Secret Santa, if you’re given a budget of £10 and under!
10. This Sleek iDivine palette in Vintage is just stunning – a perfect stocking stuffer! Lovely for the girl who’s a night owl; this palette promises some serious smokey eyes.
11. This clutch from Boohoo is perfect – the monochrome and the croc-print are really on trend and it’s a good size for parties, date night (I am so jealous of anyone who has a proper ‘date night’ with their significant other, it sounds adorable) or just a night out with friends. And it’s only £9!
12. This Body Shop body mist is a nice one for a smaller present, maybe for someone you don’t know too well. The scent is Brazil Nut, which I thought would be a bit weird, but is in fact quite wonderful. Nice for someone a bit older, or just a particularly classy teenage girl!
13. This Kringle Candle in Watercolours is my absolute favourite, and another one for the classy girl. I like that the candle is white, so it would blend in nicely with any home decor. Maybe one for a secret Santa (I know I’d be thrilled with this one!).
14. This Lush bath bomb is called Phoenix Rising, and is an absolutely gorgeous one. It’s not a part of their Christmas range, which is nice, because if the person you’re buying for falls in love with it, they can go out and buy themselves one as a treat! Very cinnamonny, and turns your bathwater a gorgeous deep purple colour. Very luxurious!
15. This Burt’s Bees collection is perfect for someone who’s getting into skincare, or is a big lover of organic products. Maybe for an older person – I can see my grandmother absolutely loving this cute little set.
16. This set from the Body Shop is in one of their Winter scents, Vanilla Brulee. Not only does that make me super hungry for pudding, it sounds adorable! The set is £15 (quite affordable for the Body Shop, I think) and comes in a cute candy-striped tin.
Gift Guide 2: Little Girls
This year my sister and I put together mini Christmas present packages for the daughters of a family friend (who are the cutest little girls on the planet). They got really excited when I told them I was working at Lush, because that’s one of their favourite shops, so we bought them each a Butterbear bath bomb (which is a good one for eczema, and sensitive skin) and a bar of Pink Fun (which is like play-doh for the bath, and can be used as bubblebath or even shampoo).
I got carried away with my gift guide and found a set of Disney lipbalms, inspired by the different princesses. To be honest, if I got this at Christmas I’d be a very happy girl (with very moisturised lips).
Gift Guide 3: Men and Boys
1. With the recent release of the Sims 4 (which seems to have been a bit of a failure!), it’s the perfect time to introduce someone to the world of the Sims 3. I personally love the game, and there’s plenty of free online content to download to personalise it just the way you’d like. There are loads of other expansion packs available, which would be nice for future gifts, if they enjoy the base game!
2. I’ve actually asked for Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for Christmas. No shame. I’m a big Pokemon nerd (always have been, always will be) and so I can’t wait to get my hands on this re-work of the older game. Perfect if your brother, boyfriend or dad is a bit of a nerd at heart.
3 & 4. It wouldn’t be my gift guide if Lush didn’t pop into it somewhere, so for the men in your life, try out Ice Blue soap (3) or Dirty Springwash shower gel (4). Both really minty and fresh, it’s the perfect way to say “sometimes you smell like an armpit, but I love you anyway”.
5. The final gift in my gift guide (congratulations, if you’re reading this far down!) is Cards Against Humanity. I’ve seen this game all over the place – hilarious, occasionally filthy; this is maybe a good one for over-18s! I especially love the tagline “a party game for horrible people” – genius.
Wow. That was a lot of stuff. I hope you enjoyed, and I’ll see you tomorrow for day 3 of Blogmas!
Great guide!
